Taran is an assistant pigkeeper with boyish dreams of turning into a nice warrior. However, he has to placed the daydreaming aside while his charge, an oracular pig named Hen Wen, is abducted via an evil lord recognized as the Horned King. The villain hopes Hen will show him the method to The Black Cauldron, which has the power to create a large army of unstoppable soldiers.
