The eerie and abandoned ghost town of Silent Hill draws a younger mom determined to locate a treatment for her solely child's illness. Unable to settle for the doctor's diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care, Rose flees with her child, heading for the abandoned town in seek of solutions – and ignoring the protests of her husband. It's soon clear this place is not like wherever she's ever been. It's smothered through fog, inhabited through a variety of strange beings and periodically overcome through a dwelling 'darkness' that literally transforms the entirety it touches. As Rose searches for her little girl, she starts to learn the history of the strange town and realizes that her daughter is simply a pawn in a higher game.
