When Betty Anne Waters' older brother Kenny is arrested for murder and sentenced to existence in 1983, Betty Anne, a Massachusetts spouse and mom of two, dedicates her existence to overturning the murder conviction. Convinced that her brother is innocent, Betty Anne places herself via prime school, faculty and, finally, law faculty in an 18 year quest to loose Kenny. With the assistance of best pal Abra Rice, Betty Anne pores via suspicious evidence mounted by means of small town cop Nancy Taylor, meticulously retracing the steps that led to Kenny's arrest. Belief in her brother - and her quest for the truth - pushes Betty Anne and her staff to discover the facts and make the most of DNA evidence with the desire of exonerating Kenny.
