BELLE is impressed via the precise story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral. Raised via her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield and his wife, Belle's lineage provides her sure privileges, but the colour of her skin prevents her from totally collaborating in the traditions of her social standing.
