Cidade de Deus is a shantytown that started throughout the 1960s and became one of Rio de Janeiro’s most dangerous puts in the starting of the 1980s. To inform the story of this place, the film describes the life of numerous characters, all noticed by means of the aspect of view of the narrator, Buscapé. Buscapé was raised in a very violent environment. Despite the feeling that all odds have been towards him, he unearths out that life can be noticed with different eyes: The eyes of an artist. By accident, he becomes a professional photographer, gaining his freedom.
